Special Event!! New Series: Museum Magic!
Join us for some adventures at museums across the Northeast! We’ll visit with seals with the New England Aquarium, learn about art with the Guggenheim Museum, and travel to the 1930s with the Tenement Museum! See below for more information!


Museum Magic: Virtual Harbor Seal Encounter with the New England Aquarium!
Saturday, February 6 at 11 am.

Join us for a Virtual Harbor Seal Encounter via Zoom with the New England Aquarium! Engage with a marine mammal trainer as they conduct a training session with an Atlantic Harbor Seal, located right out front of the Aquarium! Learn about how they train, why they train, and what you can do to protect the ocean environment for these amazing animals! 

Geared towards children and families of all ages.

Registration required. As registration is limited, we request that if you register you plan to attend. 

Zoom link will be emailed out in advance of the program to registered participants.

This program is taking place as part of our Virtual Take Your Child To The Library Day 2021 celebration! It is also the first in our new Museum Magic series!

Museum Magic: Art and Location with the Guggenheim!
Wednesday, March 10 at 5 PM

Join us for a virtual program with staff from the Guggenheim Museum in New York! Participants will get to explore several pieces of art from the Guggenheim’s collection and discuss the pieces with a member of the museum’s staff!

The program is geared towards students in elementary school – middle school.

Museum Magic: Meet the Baldizzi Family with the Tenement Museum!
Wednesday, April 7 at 6PM.

Visit the 1930s home of Adolpho and Rosaria Baldizzi, immigrants from Sicily who lived at 97 Orchard Street in New York City! Via Zoom, take a tour of one of the Tenement Museum’s landmarks led by staff of the museum! We’ll explore the daily lives and experiences as immigrants living through the Great Depression. How did they manage economic struggles? What supports did they have from community and government programs, and what lessons can we draw from their story for our lives today?

This program is geared towards older elementary students and up, and families.

Backyard Adventurers: Snow Day Kit
Snow Days have never been more fun! Register for your very own Snow Day Kit- full of fun experiments to do with snow and ice that can be used all winter long! With registration, this kit will be sent directly to your inbox and uses materials typically found around the home. This kit is fun for the whole family! Registration with an email address is required.

Cocoa & Crafts
Now that it’s winter, it’s time for some cocoa…and crafts! Stop by the library and pick up a new craft each month — along with some cocoa to enjoy at home! Geared towards kids ages 8 -12. Runs January – April.
January pick up dates: January 19 – 23.
Registration required each month.

February pick up dates: February 16 – 20.

March pick up dates: March 15 -20.

Teen Self Care Series
The world is a stressful place, take some time for yourself with our Teen Self Care Series! Each month we have D.I.Y kits available to pick up, with registration. This session is all about using your creative side-kits include materials and instructions for crafts, creative thinking exercises and yummy comfort food!

Zoom Dungeons & Dragons
Zoom D&D continues this winter! Love to play but are unable to get together with friends? Our Zoom meeting is the perfect place for you! Play Dungeons & Dragons with other local teens from the comfort of your own home each Wednesday, beginning Wednesday January 13. This program is available for teens in grades 7 & up, registration is required.

Backyard Adventurers
Pick up, Take home, Explore! At the beginning of each month, we will provide a package of tools, materials and fun science activities for children ages 4-7. This session runs for the months of February and March. Each package is designed to encourage your child to explore their environment in different ways- using science and play! Registration is required.
