Readers Theater returns to the Durham Public Library to perform 4,000 Miles by Amy Herzog.
After suffering a major loss while he was on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. 4000 MILES looks at how two outsiders find their way in today’s world. 4,000 MILES received the 2012 Obie Award for Best New Play, was first play to receive a performance at Lincoln Center in their New Works Program begun in 2012, was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize, and more recently was performed by Shakespeare & Company in the Berkshires in 2017.
The performance is free and open to the community. Registration suggested. Click here to register.
