PALS’ goal is to promote awareness and enhance usage of the library by raising funds for programs, materials, equipment and services not included in the town’s library budget.
PALS holds two fundraising events every year, an annual book sale and Taste of Durham, a community party featuring local restaurants, on the first Saturday night in February.
Materials and programs are purchased for a broad spectrum of ages and interests:
- Summer Reading Program
- Museum, zoo and park passes
- Musical programs
- Children’s and family programs and events
- New initiatives
- Multi-media equipment
- Movie Series
- Library staff support
- Self-check
PALS meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the Library. You are invited to join PALS at any time by requesting information at the circulation desk. With your support we can continue to assist the Library in providing more books, quality programming and extra library services.
