Teen Movie Matinee

For ages 12-18. Drop-In.

Every other Friday in July, the Library will host a movie matinee just for teens.  Popcorn and refreshments provided.  (Film schedule TBD)

Durham Olympics

For ages 6-18. Registration is required.

Participants will compete in various official Olympic events including long jump, spring, and relay races.  (Please note this event will be held outdoors)

Caregivers and children 6 months to 2 1/2 years of age can join Miss Diana for stories and songs

Krafty Kids

Mondays, July 11 and August 1 from 1-2pm

Kids ages 9 to 12  can join Miss Diana for a fun book discussion and a craft.

Participants can pick up copies of the discussion book at the library!

Minecraft Club
Aug 1 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

On Mondays from June 25th through August 1st, 3-4pm

For ages 11-18. Drop-In.

Crafters, Creepers, and Master Builders are invited to the Minecraft Club.  Chat with other players, work together to build great things, or just play on the Library’s own server.

Children ages 2 ½ to 5 years can join Miss Alex for stories songs and a craft!

Henna Designs
Aug 2 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

For ages 12-18. Registration is required.

Participants will learn the origins of henna and get a personal design applied by the artist, Kasha N.  Please note: henna will stain the skin and last 1-2 weeks.

Book Lovers’ Circle August 3

On Wednesday, August 3, the focus will be on Jhumpa Lahiri’s Interperer of Maladies. The discussion will be held at 7:30  in the Activity Room of the library.

The Durham Public Library hosts a movie matinee every Thursday at 1:30 pm. This film series is free and open to the public. Light refreshments are served.
